NHTHC Meeting June 20th

WTPL Moose Lottery

For the 3rd straight year the NHTOA is working with WTPL to sponsor a live broadcast of New Hampshire's moose lottery. Be listening June 20th starting at 7:30 am for NHTOA personnel and members as they help broadcast this event and offer rural information about New Hampshire to Concord's largest radio audience. Naturally Newfound Fair

On June 28, 2008 at the Audubon Center at Ash Cottage in Hebron, NH will be the annual “Naturally Newfound Fair” featuring many exhibits from local environmental and ecological associations. For more information or to display your materials contact Martha Twombly at nlra.martha@metrocast.net.

NHTOA at Baseball All-Star Game with the New Hampshire Fishercats
 
The NHTOA has been invited by the New Hampshire Fishercats to be a part of the festivities at Merchantsauto.com stadium in Manchester New Hampshire surrounding the AA Baseball All-Star Game to be played on July 15 and 16.

NHTOA and NHFB Summer Picnic and Candidates' Stump Speeches Event August 12th.
 
Please join NHTOA, NHFB and our hosts, award winning Hereford breeders, Kenneth & Elaine Bonnette for food, fun, and old fashioned Stump Speeches, focusing on farm, forest and rural issues. This is a great chance to meet the candidates running for Congress and Governor.

The event schedule:

2:00 pm - Tour of Ames Road Tree Farm
2:00 pm - Young Farmer Summer Games
4:00 pm - Tour of Oak Ledge Farm
5:00 pm - Dinner of Native NH Foods
5:30 pm - Stump Speeches - Congressional and Gubernatorial Candidates

Directions to Oak Ledge Farm:
From NHFB office in Concord, go north on 106 for 22 miles and merge left onto the bypass for Route 3/11 West for 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Route 3/11 (Daniel Webster Hwy) for 2/10 of a mile and take the first left onto Ladd Hill Road. The farm is one mile up on the left.

From Interstate 93 North or South, take exit 20. Turn onto Route 3/11, toward Tilton, Laconia for 6 miles, and take a right onto Ladd Hill Road. The farm is approximately one mile up on the left.

NHTHC Loggers and Truckers Convention:

The annual Loggers and Truckers Convention for NHTHC will be October 25th at the Common Man Inn, in Plymouth, NH. We will post more information as it becomes available. Questions? please email Steve Wingate at prodir@nhtoa.org. Registration will begin in the Fall. REMINDER: If you participated in the Professional Logger's Program this year, and are now Certified or Recertified, you will receive that certificate at the Logger's and Truckers Convention in October. PLEASE RESERVE THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR!

Save the Date – Tree Farm Field Day
Andorra Forest in Stoddard was selected as the 2008 Outstanding Tree Farm of the Year. Andorra Forest contains 11,000 acres of land which the Faulkner Family has been actively managing for timber, wildlife, recreation and water for generations. They will be hosting the annual Tree Farm Field Day on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Plan to attend this fun and educational day next fall!
