Thank you to all of the instructors for all of their time and efforts during the Spring 2008 New Hampshire Timber Harvesting Council Professional Logger Program courses. Classes ended May 22nd. Certificates, for those who have completed the requirements, will be handed out at the Loggers & Truckers Convention October 25th, 2008. Please reserve this date on your calendar. Introduction to a Careful Timber Harvest
At the site of an active timber harvest, learn how trees are selected, marked and cut during timber harvesting operations? What are typical price ranges for timber depending on tree species, quality, products, access to viable markets and site operability and logging costs? Business Start - Up Basics
This workshop is for people who are interested in learning the fundamentals of starting and running a business the right way. Subjects covered are the pros and cons of being in business, basics of accounting and record keeping, understanding your markets, basic business law, cash-flow planning and budgeting and how financing really works. An outline for writing a sound business plan is also provided as part of a generous information packet. Workshop fees are, $40 for the first person $30 for each additional person from the same business. Wood Education and Resource Center Begins Beta
Testing of Online Training Information Exchange System
PRINCETON, WV— The U.S. Forest Service Wood Education and Resource Center is currently overseeing beta testing of its online Training Information Exchange System. This system will help individuals in primary and secondary wood products industries locate continuing education training opportunities. The system will be available for general use after the independent testing and program updates are completed. For More information please contact Devin J.
