Brian Winn has been a log-truck driver for 34 years. He once worked for his grandfather and he has owned his own business for the past six years. He hauls roundwood almost exclusively, hauling chips only rarely.
Brian operates a 2002 Kenworth W900 with a 2021 trail and a 2018 Serco 6700 center mount loader. He works mostly with two loggers, filling gaps with others here and there. He is based in Effingham, and all of his hauls are less than 150 miles, with the longest to Irving and SAPPI, which are both in Maine. He does all his own maintenance and repair in a friend’s shop. His wife keeps the books for the business. He has an exceptional driving record, with no safety violations in the last two years.
All of Brian’s loads are secured with binder straps. His truck is in good working order and has all the required safety features: mud flaps, fire extinguisher, headache rack, lights, first aid kit,and flares.
BT Winn Trucking is an NHTOA member in good standing.
The NHTHC/NHTOA awards committee “came away impressed with how clean and well maintained his truck is. He is very smooth and meticulous on the loader and is sure to not bump his log stakes. He said for him to replace his current truck, trailer, and loader with all new stuff, it would cost $400,000 today! He has a positive attitude and really enjoys hauling forest products.”
