The first day of the 2026 Forests of NH Teacher Tour kicked off in Alstead on Tuesday.  This year’s host is the Timberland Owner’s of New England (TONE) Forest Recreation Association.  Educators gathered for introductory activities, several PLT lessons and a walk to Lower Cranberry Pond on the TONE property.  They heard presentations from TONE Recreation Board President Beth Weaver, SFI SIC chair Joel Slate, TOA Workforce Development Manager Doug Cullen and TOA Marketing Director Barry Nilson.  The remaining three days will be filled with tours, more PLT activities, and time to collaborate with fellow educators.  Thanks to the generous support from the Adelard A and Valeda Lea Roy Foundation and the Ag Enhancement Grant from Farm Credit East.
